Welcome to Convention Committee

The Convention Committee of EYUMEMA USA is one of the most important working arms of the association, responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the annual EYUMEMA National Conventions. This committee is made up of representatives from each of the 16 branches of EYUMEMA across the United States, ensuring that every branch contributes to the success of the convention. The chairperson of the committee rotates each year, with the chair coming from the hosting branch and the co-chair coming from the branch that will host the following year. This rotation strengthens ownership, collaboration, and continuity in the planning of our national gatherings.

 Duties of the Convention Committee.

The Convention Committee is entrusted with the following responsibilities:

1. Convention Planning & Logistics – Organize, coordinate, and oversee all activities leading up to and during the annual convention.

2. Venue & Program Management – Secure venues, prepare detailed convention programs, and ensure that cultural, social, and administrative activities run smoothly.

3. Budget & Finance – Work with the national executive to establish budgets, manage expenses, and ensure financial accountability for convention activities.

4. Representation & Coordination – Ensure equal participation by all 16 branches through designated representatives.

5. Continuity & Transition – Facilitate a smooth transition of leadership each year from the current host branch to the next year’s host branch.

6. Community Engagement – Build partnerships with local organizations, promote outreach, and involve the broader community in convention activities.

7. Evaluation & Reporting – Document outcomes, lessons learned, and best practices for continuous improvement.

History of EYUMEMA Conventions

EYUMEMA USA has been hosting conventions since its historic launch:

• 2019 – Dallas, Texas: Official launching convention.

• 2022 – Maryland (DMV): First full-scale national convention.

• 2023 – Atlanta, Georgia: Strengthened cultural pride and unity.

• 2024 – Columbus, Ohio: Expanded outreach and community impact.

• 2025 – Denver, Colorado: Marked continued growth and national presence.

The Convention Committee remains cntral to sustaining the legacy of these conventions, ensuring that each gathering reflects the values of EYUMEMA—unity, culture, empowerment, and service.
