EYUMEMA USA CELEBRATING A NEW EXECUTIVE
The Eken-Eku Committee of Eyumema USA Inc. stands as a pillar of compassion, solidarity, and responsibility within our community. Rooted in the values of unity and care, this committee ensures that no Eyumema member or family walks alone in their time of grief.
The Eken-Eku Program was the visionary brainchild of Ma Bridget Bessem Voma, former President of Eyumema USA. Recognizing the deep cultural and emotional importance of dignified burials, she established this initiative to provide organized support for members and their families at the time of their passing.
The program’s mission is simple yet profound: to assist Eyumema members and their families during bereavement, ensuring that our sisters are laid to rest with dignity and respect.
CHAIRPERSON
The Eken-Eku Committee is made up of representatives from all Eyumema USA branches, reflecting the collective responsibility of our entire community. Their presence guarantees that every member, regardless of branch, receives equal attention and support.
The committee is entrusted with:
Administering the Eken-Eku Program across all branches of Eyumema USA.
Providing Bereavement Assistance: Coordinating financial and logistical support to families of deceased members.
Facilitating Funerals and Burials: Supporting the repatriation or burial of remains in accordance with the wishes of the family.
Upholding Unity and Compassion: Strengthening solidarity during moments of loss and grief.
Continuity of Legacy: Sustaining and expanding the vision of Ma Bridget Voma so that this program remains a lasting gift to Eyumema members.
The Eken-Eku Committee is committed to ensuring that every Eyumema member is honored in life and in death. We believe that to belong to Eyumema is to be family, and in family, no one is ever left behind.
This program is more than a bereavement fund—it is an expression of love, shared responsibility, and cultural duty.
In times of joy, we celebrate together. In times of sorrow, we carry one another’s burdens. The Eyumema Eken-Eku Committee pledges to remain steadfast in administering this sacred program, so that the legacy of care envisioned by Ma Bridget Voma continues to bring comfort and dignity to our members and their families.
Together, we honor life, respect our traditions, and uphold the strength of Eyumema sisterhood—in life and beyond.
