EYUMEMA USA CELEBRATING A NEW EXECUTIVE
The Constitution Committee of UMEMA USA Inc. is the cornerstone of our organization’s governance, tasked with upholding, reviewing, and modernizing the legal and operational framework that guides UMEMA branches both within the United States and globally.
To ensure broad representation and inclusion, the Constitution Committee is composed of two representatives from each of the 15 EYUMEMA USA branches. This design allows every region within our network to have a voice in shaping our foundational document.
The leadership of the committee is determined as follows:
Chairperson: Appointed by the National President of EYUMEMA USA Inc.
Co-Chairperson: Appointed by the National President
Secretary: Nominated by the Chairperson of the Constitution Committee
This leadership structure provides both executive oversight and internal collaboration, enabling the committee to operate efficiently and with accountability.
The Constitution Committee is entrusted with the following key responsibilities:
Drafting and Amending the Constitution
The committee is responsible for initiating revisions, proposing amendments, and ensuring the constitution remains current and responsive to the evolving needs of the EYUMEMA community.
Harmonizing Governance Across Regions
The Constitution of EYUMEMA USA Inc. serves as the modern guiding constitution for all EYUMEMA branches and regional entities worldwide, promoting unity, clarity, and consistency in governance across our global network.
Facilitating Participatory Constitutional Reform
Through consultations, meetings, and transparent dialogue, the committee engages members and branch leaders in the constitutional review process.
Preparing Proposals for General Assembly Review
Finalized amendments and proposed changes are submitted to the General Assembly for ratification and adoption.
As UMEMA grows across states and continents, the Constitution Committee ensures that our foundational values—empowerment, inclusion, sisterhood, and service—remain at the heart of our operations.
