A Legacy of Empowerment: The Birth of EYUMEMA (The Voice Of A Mother).
In the annals of time, a profound transformation took place within the hearts of pioneering women who believed in the power of unity and celebration. EYUMEMA, aptly named "The Voice Of A Mother," emerged from a humble beginning to embody the essence of strength and resilience.
2018
It all started when a group of visionary founding mothers embarked on a journey to honor the esteemed Queen Mother, Ma Faustina Yembe, during her 75th birthday celebration. Inspiration struck as those founding mothers who are now members of the association (Mami Sarah Adelowo and Mami Bertha Eta) paid homage to Ma Faustina Yembe.
In a twist of fate, the act of honoring the Queen Mother birthed a new chapter across the seas in the United States of America – the inception of MOHWA USA. Fuelled by the passion ignited during the celebration, the founding mothers convened to chart a
course towards establishing a robust and enduring presence of MOHWA in the United States of America. The seeds of empowerment were sown, germinating into a movement that would redefine the narrative of women's solidarity and collective empowerment.
Transitioning from vision to action, on July 8th, the first interim executive officers comprising 21 esteemed members stepped into their roles with determination and enthusiasm. Led by the visionary Mami Faustina Yembe as president, the executive team embodied a symphony of expertise and passion.
2019
Through unwavering dedication and collaborative effort, the executive officers, in tandem with the launching committee, paved the way for MOHWA USA's official registration and launching in the State of Texas in August 2019. The birth of MOHWA USA heralded a new era of empowerment and sisterhood, where Manyu women converged to forge a strong foundation of love, unity, and solidarity. With deep commitment to supporting and uplifting the Manyu girl child, the organization sowed the seeds of a brighter, more empowered future for all.
2022
The dawn of 2022 welcomed a new administration led by Ma Bridget Bessem Voma as National President. Her leadership together with collective efforts of dedicated branch presidents and an extensive National Executive Council bore fruit as the organization made a significant impact through projects in Cameroon and philanthropic endeavors in the United States, solidifying its presence in the socio-cultural sphere.
In 2022, Project “Healthcare Restoration” was launched. The association assisted in restoration of fundamental healthcare services after the destruction of the only district hospital of Mamfe in Cameroon, Africa.
2023
In 2023, in collaboration with the Project Committee and administrative units, executed a groundbreaking initiative in Manyu— the "MANYEP, WATER FOR LIFE PROJECT."
Here are highlights of this project per subdivision for which a total of just over $170,000 was raised:

2024
In 2024, the association embraced change, echoing Michelle Obama's call to "go high." Thus, EYUMEMA, "The Voice Of The Mother," was born – a beacon of hope, a testament to the unyielding spirit of female camaraderie, and a tribute to the legacy of strength passed down through generations.
As the journey unfolded, each step forward echoed with the resounding chorus of unity, resilience, and the unwavering commitment to uplift and empower every woman who crossed its path.
In the tapestry of time, EYUMEMA stands as a testament to the power of women coming together, raising their voices in unison, and heralding a new dawn of empowerment and sisterhood. The history of our organization is intricately woven with threads of courage, determination, and the unwavering belief in the transformative power of unity. From humble beginnings to soaring heights, EYUMEMA after rebranding from MOHWA USA Inc. embodies the essence of the Mother–nurturing, guiding, and empowering all who seek solace in its embrace. As we look to the future with eager anticipation, let the legacy of EYUMEMA inspire us to forge ahead with purpose, passion, and a steadfast resolve to uplift and empower women around the world. Out of this evolution emerged EYUMEMA (The Voice of the Mother), igniting a new era for our organization. This metamorphosis solidified its role as a beacon of hope, set to empower the Manyu girl child and uplift the community through impactful socio-economic initiatives and philanthropic efforts. Gratitude flows to the resilient EYUMEMA mothers and sisters, champions of change and voices for the voiceless. In the words of Malala Yousafzai, "I raise my voice... so that those without a voice can be heard." EYUMEMA stands as a testament to solidarity and progress, advocating for the upliftment of all. Together, we march forward, united in purpose and bound by the enduring spirit of EYUMEMA—The Voice of the Manyu Mother. Long live EYUMEMA USA.
